75th Anniversary Of the Landings and Liberation
Normandy Allies July 14-27, 2019: 75th Anniversary of the Landings and Liberation
“For all of the spectacular battlefields, memorials, and exhibits we’ve seen, the most impactful thing here in Normandy has been the people. Everyone from the clerks at the Hotel Churchill to the guides on our day trips and the survivors from the Landings have led me to believe that the Norman French are some of the proudest, kindest, and wisest people on Earth.”
George Lanham expressed our experience so well. We were honored to be with the Norman people for the commemoration of the 1944 Landings and Liberation. Denis Lesage welcomed our group to the Wall of Remembrance, presenting remembrance plaques to each of our eleven students as well as to Ann Posman and Mary Posman Starowicz, daughter and granddaughter of George H. King who served with the 9th Division and landed on Utah Beach.
