There’s a Gold Star in my Window

From Mike Forgy, a poem his Great-Grandmother wrote for his Grandfather.

There's a Gold Star in my Window

There's a Gold Star in my Window
And an ache in my heart;
There's a lonely tender, feeling
Making pent-up teardrops start.
My brave son is in Normandy:
He rests beneath her soil:
He gave his life for his country:
For you, for me; for all.
